KEITH crosses the marble foyer with his keys in hand. GENEVA follows a few steps behind him, carrying a large pair of sunglasses and the confidence of a woman who has already decided how the afternoon will go.

SHARI steps from the dining room with a tablet tucked against her chest. Her eyes move from Geneva to Keith and then to the front door.

Keith opens the front door. Geneva pauses beside him, close enough that her perfume reaches him before she does.

He meets her gaze but gives her nothing.

KEITH

Geneva's smile tightens at the formality. She slips on her sunglasses and walks past him into the sunlight.

INT. H2H ENTERPRISES — EXECUTIVE DESIGN LIBRARY — DAY

Rows of Hart2Hart bags sit beneath warm gallery lights, each one displayed like a museum piece. ELLE stands at a long worktable with an open archive book in front of her. She studies an early sketch of the red Hart2Hart bag Geneva gave her.

MAYNARD POSEY enters carrying two cups of coffee. His silver hair and tailored suit make him look as polished as the room.

He places both cups aside and moves next to her. A little too close.

MAYNARD

Elle looks sharply at him.

Maynard smiles, pleased by her edge.

He reaches past her for the archive book. His sleeve brushes her arm. Elle shifts away, but Maynard pretends not to notice.

He taps the sketch.

Elle closes the archive book.

His eyes travel over her slowly enough that the compliment becomes an inspection.

Elle folds her arms.

For the first time, Maynard's smile falters. Then it returns, smoother than before.
